Final Project
Due Monday, December 15th, 2008.
For this final project you will be identifying a current trend in photography OR clearly identifying contemporary characteristics in a photographic genre. You will illustrate this trend or genre with 4-8 contemporary photographs. Then you will create your own series of 4-8 polished images that also exhibit your outlined characteristics.
Outline the characteristics of a current trend OR the contemporary characteristics in a photographic genre. Some common characteristics: Lighting – Describe or possibly Diagram, Colors, Composition, Framing and Cropping, Film/Camera type, Subject/Model, Set/Setting, Styling – Hair, Makeup, Clothing, Props, etc..., Pose/Positioning, Trope/Cliche , Concept/Topic, Location, Effects, etc.) Include this outline on the 18th required page in the Trendbook called Trend ID for Final Project.
Illustrate your trend or genre with 4-8 contemporary photographs. Record the name of the photographer and where you found the images. Include these illustrations on the 19th
required page in the Trendbook called Sketches, Diagrams, or Outlines for Final Project.
Shoot a set of 4-8 themed images that exhibit the characteristics you've outlined and illustrated. Make sure these images work together in a series and are very polished. Feel free to use any methods and equipment at your disposal (studio, Photoshop, beautiful people, exotic locations, parrots, etc...)
Present these images as approximately 11” x 14” prints or printed “mock” magazine spreads (other presentation methods may also be acceptable but ask first.) You will also create a small spread for 20th required page in your Trendbook called Final Project.
