Identify contemporary trends in the areas of the general portfolio
Investigate styles in national and international portfolios
Finalize examples in each of the categories that demonstrate technical excellence
Demonstrate the ability to illustrate a variety of techniques
Develop a personal identity across a wide subject range
Complete a professional website which selections from the general portfolio
Investigate alternative media for portfolio presentation
Refine print materials for self promotion.

Grades: Work will be evaluated throughout the quarter (not just the due date) for understanding of the assignment, concept/idea, depth of investigation, amount of challenge, time/effort, technical quality and overall effectiveness. Your grade will also be affected by attendance, participation during class time, participation in and preparedness for discussions, group work and other assignments, general involvement and interest. The grading scale is: A 100-93% A- 92-90% B+ 89-88% B 87-83% B- 82-80% C+ 79-78% C 77-73% C- 72-70% D+ 69% D 68% F 67% and below
Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. Students who accumulate a total of 4 absences in a course will be dropped 4 letter grades from their final course grade, resulting in an automatic failure of the course. Arriving more than 15 minutes late to class or leaving before the end of class counts as an absence.
Late work will NOT be accepted without a formal written excuse. The excuse and ALL work is due the first class back.
Tardiness: Don’t be late, your grade WILL be affected. Two lates will count as an absence.
